Christian resources are essential for thinking Christians. But there is a bewildering array of resources for Christians on the web and in bookstores.
If we may be allowed an observation, much of the material Christians
search through for their resources are not materials that work from first
principles. Most of today's material attempts to tell us what to think without the author
explaining for us her/his first principles. Often we are expected to give our
allegiance as well
as our attention (and our money!)

Clues to Creation in Genesis
For example, in discussing creation versus evolution, most writers
refer to the book of Genesis. However, seldom do writers discuss
what the book of Genesis is, when it was written, what language it was
written in, or who wrote it and why.
Such considerations are fundamental to any discussion on creationism, the
days of creation in Genesis 1 and whether we live on a young earth or an
old earth.
The only book that looks seriously at the literary structure of Genesis
and its relation to the cultures of the time of writing is Clues to
Creation in Genesis, edited by D. J. Wiseman. Clues to Creation in
Genesis is his compendium of his father's writing. D. J. Wiseman's
father, Air Commodore (Royal Air Force) P. J. Wiseman studied the findings
of archaeologists who excavated ancient Sumeria (now Iraq).

Pope Joan
One website editor wrote to the ChristianResources.info editor and
insisted the story of Pope Joan had long been debunked! Well, it hasn't!
English scholar Joan Morris (who studied at Notre Dame in the United
States) was a 20th Century pioneer for women in ministry in Great Britain.
Her book, Pope Joan, examined the evidence - and the deliberately damaged
evidence - and wrote this book. Her conclusion is that the 9th
Century Pope John VIII was actually an English woman named Joan who
disguised herself as a man and earned her way to the top of the Roman
